The Job Application as Information Exchange [What Do I Get?]
I have just been browsing job sites online and a thought struck me. All the jobs being offered are extremely explicit and detailed about what they want from me; qualifications, skills and experience required for the role, and at the same time offer precious little about what I get from them.
Posted jobs go on at some length about the qualities they want in me, loyalty, detail-oriented, team player, not to mention a drivers license and access to an automobile. They are not shy about asking for sterling personality characteristics; passion, excellence, strength, and flexibility, not to mention willingness to travel 25% of the time. They also make it clear that they like people who are willing to work overtime or weekends ‘when called upon’.
What’s missing in all this is what I get from them. Most job offerings don’t even tell me what I’m going to be paid! [they actually often ask me what I think I should be paid - talk about passing the buck!]
What they deign to offer about themselves is a paragraph or two of public-relations-style puffery obviously copied from a promotional brochure. This attitude represents the remnants of the traditional, last-century, patriarchal, top-down, need-to-know, command-and-control style of business still anachronistically reflected in the on-line job application process.
That world is long gone. Neither people looking for a position, nor organizations looking for team members are well served by these outdated practices.
I had a wonderful group of inputs from ‘the ghosts’ the other day. No less than three ghosts were involved in the presentation of feelings and idea-tidbits that all tied together into one big lesson for me about ‘allowance’. [we’re talking here, of course, YCYOR, Seth, Kris, Elias, Abe... Bashar, Kryon, and etc...]
Again we are back to this singular perspective on life offered by almost all the ‘dead guys’, allowance. [I have already written several posts on this topic - a couple even with impressive information diagrams! But that was then...]
My new sensitivity and noticing has alerted me to a million ways I continue to ‘oppose’ rather than ‘allow’ mySelf. In every moment when I feel I ‘could have’, ‘should have’, ‘would have’ (if only I’d known!) In every moment when we feel that things are ‘not quite right’, let’s ‘get with the program’ and ‘straighten things out’, past indoctrination is influencing (not to say poisoning) our present perspectives, and consequentially our experiences.
Changing Our Life Means Choosing Different Personality Structures
I had a very penetrating thought during today’s Skype session with Kris [that wonderful Source speaking through Serge J, Grandbois here in Toronto, ON, Canada, [CMI3-5].
Someone comes to us with an ‘issue’ they want to change in their lives. What we are really talking about here is changing our personality structure. This is how we create our experienced reality, by creating - and recreating - ourselves [the selves we want to express in any given situation].
After all, it is exactly and precisely this expressed Personhood - our choices about our beingness - the currently expressed aspects of our personality - this is what is reflected and confirmed and mirrored in the realities we experience with our senses in this dimension.
‘Who I think I am’ and ‘How I think the world works’, are the most basic beliefs and the most powerful reality-creation mechanisms we use. Altering these beliefs in the most minute ways changes everything about our experienced reality in a twinkling. [try it, I dare you!]
Getting back to our main idea, the World is primarily a reflection of our expressed personality structures in the present now. [the whole self is represented, of course, but mostly in the bushes, the scenery or background, ‘the very air we breath’, as they say]
Your Highest Enlightenment: The True Meaning of Ascension
The Kris workshop I attended last weekend was a wonderful, multi-dimensional experience. So nice to meet everybody. [Remember how we all ended up in the same restaurant for lunch on Sunday, after we variously set out in three different directions?]
Kris pointed out that this was because we all really wanted to be together that weekend, and we were all very efficiently using our reality creation abilities to co-create this reality for ourselves. [Never mind the minor inconvenience of any of us thinking consciously we wanted to lunch apart.]
The workshop was advertised to be about Enlightenment and Ascension and I think we got our money’s worth. Kris often warns us about being sold a ‘bill of goods’, but in my opinion Kris, Serge and Mark (and all of us) totally delivered the goods last weekend.
Kris presented the Map of Consciousness with four quadrants: Conflict, Passion, Goodness, and Spirituality. The four quadrants were represented by posters placed on the floor in the four corners of the room with a hot pink poster in the middle called “Divinity/Creator”.
What’s the Easiest Way to Let Important People Know?
What’s the easiest way to let people know that focusing on what we don’t want will only prolong our difficulties. Sharing this information freely seems like only common courtesy when so many of us plague ourselves with so much palpable nonsense and outdated crap about all this.
Understanding that we create our actual physical reality by the thoughts and feelings (assumptions, convictions, dreams, and all the other categories of psychological awareness we all surf constantly), understanding that we do this, means that we suddenly have the potential to be ‘in control’ in ways we have only dreamed of.
As we take responsibility for every molecule of our present experience, we automatically acknowledge that in the next Now, quite a few molecules are allowed to change in our favor ;-), and more than likely the ones that would benefit us the most! All this ‘magical realism’ starts appearing around us because we are starting to ‘feel our oats’ a tiny bit around this idea that ‘The world is about As’… But that would mean that… [well, yeah!]
Let’s explore some basic concepts about Belief Negotiation. First let’s recall the primary idea that “You get what you concentrate on.” and let’s go on to make an equivalency between ‘concentrate on’ and ‘believe’. Beliefs are totally key.
Thus what we are experiencing as ‘reality’ around us and within us is the the result of what we are concentrating on - what we believe. If we concentrate on conflict, we get conflict. If we concentrate on harmony… guess what we get? This means that our reality is always the result of our concentration. Never the cause!
But what is it that shapes and moulds this fantastically powerful concentration of ours? Habits, behavior and beliefs! Where we place our attention and what we concentrate on are hugely influenced by our beliefs about who we are and how the world works. [This is how the whole thing works...]
As the proprietor of Sid’s Café I want to be modest - as much as that’s possible - about the qualities of this storied ‘café in the sky’. Here in this physical dimension I am Johnny Danger, the author of these imaginary [oh yeah] stories about Sid’s.
As SoHars in the café herself, I am the charming proprietor, keen proponent, and tireless purveyor of what this little corner of the universe has to offer, as well as being young Johnny Danger’s Essence. (see diagram below)
Sid’s Café inhabits a unique environment at the very top of all the physical universes. A place where Essence can hang out and relax, and maybe compare notes with other Essences. Sid’s doesn’t only cater to Essence though. Anybody can come and enjoy the unparalleled view from the Observation Lounge while enjoying a stimulating beverage of their choice. [the beverages are extraordinary... just imagine!]
The dictionary defines truth as ‘a fact or belief that is accepted as true’.
The same dictionary defines belief as ‘something one accepts as true or real’.
The common factor between these definitions is the idea of something being true or real. This makes sense from YCYOR point of view because as we are beginning to understand, our own innate reality-creation mechanism, we have learned that beliefs have an important influence on the realities we create for ourselves.
The influence of beliefs is not definitive however. The actual recipe for reality creation is that ‘we get what we concentrate on’. Yes, what we concentrate on is influenced by our beliefs but there are other factors involved. What we are concentrating on is basically where we are placing our attention. [ a few years back I realized with a start that the one divine quality of consciousness that was ours and ours alone, was where we chose to place our attention. ]
You can immediately see how your beliefs will influence where you place your attention. If I believe that somebody has sent me a check in the mail, where is my attention every morning when the mail-lady comes up the steps? It is useful to realize also though that this same mail-lady gets the same burst of reality-creating attention when my assumption is that all she’s got is bills and more bills.
Because of the extraordinary value of what is emerging, my plan is to report on new developments in the exploding fields of personal growth and self awareness.
Our destiny is in our hands folks, now more than ever - both an awesome opportunity and a solemn responsibility.
